| Dear Friends, After some time devoted to other pursuits, I've decided to return to my commitment to sharing experiences and to bring awareness of Carcinoid and Islet Cell Neuroendocrine Tumors, via an active involvement in the leadership of a support group. In terms of membership we are the same group we always were but there have been a few exciting changes. • We have a new name: ‘Northern California CarciNet’ (NCCN) Support Group. • We have a new volunteer Board of Directors to help make our group the best ever. Check out the committed and caring individuals below. • We have a new website www.carcinoid-net.org that is in the beginning stages. We hope you will take a moment to check it out. Our hope is that this new website will improve communication and information sharing. • Additionally, we are actively exploring joining our efforts with a nationally known cancer support organization that has the resources to help us expand the services provided to our members. What has not changed is that we are the only Northern California support group affiliated with Southern California’s ‘California Carcinoid Fighters’ (CalCF) – an IRS approved non- profit organization in the state devoted to serving Neuroendocrine cancer patients with Carcinoid and Islet cell cancer. That means that all contributions are fully tax deductible. We are re-energizing our group and will soon announce the time and place for our first meeting.
